These are the questions families ask us most. If yours is not here, email [email protected] — no question is too small.
Who can join?
The Adventurer Club is for children in Pre-K through 4th grade, together with a parent or caregiver. The Pathfinder Club is for young people in grades 5 through 12.
Do we have to be Seventh-day Adventist?
No. The Pathfinder Club is part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and it welcomes all youth regardless of their church background. You do not need to be a member of our church, or any church, to join.
How much does it cost?
Registration Fee is:
- First child — $75
- Each additional child in the same family — $50
The registration fee helps cover the cost of our club T-shirts, as well as slides, sashes, pins, awards, honors, and other supplies needed throughout the club year.
We want every family to feel welcome and included! If the registration cost is a concern, please reach out to us. We are happy to work with you and find a solution. Email [email protected], and we will handle your request with care and confidentiality.
Will my child be included?
Yes. We are committed to including every child, whatever their abilities or background. If your child needs particular support to take part, tell us on the registration form or email us beforehand and we will plan for it with you.
When and where do you meet?
We meet the 2nd and 4th Sabbath of each month at 3:30 p.m. at the Kissimmee Seventh-day Adventist Church, 2391 Fortune Rd., Kissimmee, FL 34744.
The full club year — every meeting, campout, Conference event and Investiture — is on our club calendar.
How do we join?
Fill in the registration form for the right club. Both are short online forms.
Can we join part-way through the year?
Yes. Children start at the level that matches their current grade, so there is nothing to catch up on. Example: A child joining in second grade begins at Sunbeam and does not need to work through the earlier levels first.
What will my child actually do?
Adventurers do crafts, colouring, nature study and camping, with a active participation of parent or caregiver alongside them.
Pathfinders do camping, marching drills, nature study, and can work towards any of more than 400 honours in areas from art and music to vocational skills.
What are the levels?
Adventurers follow six levels, one per grade:
- Little Lamb — Pre-Kindergarten
- Eager Beaver — Kindergarten
- Busy Bee — Grade 1
- Sunbeam — Grade 2
- Builder — Grade 3
- Helping Hand — Grade 4
Pathfinders in grades 5 to 10 can also take part in the Investiture Achievement programme — Friend, Companion, Explorer, Ranger, Voyager and Guide, one level per year. The club itself stays open through grade 12.
What about a uniform?
You do not need a uniform to come along. Turn up as you are — a uniform can wait until your child has settled in and you know they want to stay. When you are ready, our uniform guide covers where to buy one and how it should look.
What should my child bring?
Just their Bible. That is genuinely it for a normal meeting — we will tell you in advance if a particular activity or outing needs anything else. If you don’t have one, we can provide it.
What does registration cover?
The club provides the scarf and slide, the sash, pins and class materials, so you are not buying those separately.
Who looks after the children?
Every volunteer must complete the Verified Volunteers / Shield the Vulnerable training, which is valid for three years, and be cleared before they begin. Every adult eighteen or over must also complete Child Abuse Training and a background check. As the Church Manual puts it, church should be a safe place to bring our children.
Still have a question?
Email [email protected], call the church office on (321) 492-0900, or just come to a meeting and ask. You are welcome to visit before you register.
